One of our favourite places to camp has been at Nightingale Wines vineyard in a town called Broke in NSW.
We have always loved a bush camp, but if you’re looking for some glamping fun, this is the place.
Nightingale Wines boasts a beautiful view of Yellow Rock mountain and endless vines riddled with juicy grapes for you to enjoy while you sit back and relax. The vineyard has a great restaurant on site where you can enjoy beautiful food, wine tasting or if you’re after a snack, a delicious cheese platter.
If you’re after a change of scenery, a quick drive up the hill is another great winery called Running Horses. Their wine tasting takes place in a very unusual shipping container building. It’s a really quirky place and the host is really friendly.
If you love the Hunter Valley but don’t enjoy the crowds, this is a really nice way to take in the beauty of the Hunter region.
Camping is free here, but you must be self contained with your own bathroom facilities. The owner just asks that you either eat or buy a bottle of wine from their restaurant which is really very generous considering how beautiful this place is.
